Three ways to enter cheats in GTA V
Button combinations on console
On PlayStation and Xbox you entered a cheat by quickly pressing a series of buttons during gameplay, such as directions on the D-pad and the shoulder buttons. If you made a mistake or were too slow, nothing happened and you had to start again.
The in-game phone
On every platform you could also dial a cheat's phone number on your character's phone. This was much easier than long button combinations. Read more in GTA 6 phone cheats.
The cheat box on PC
On PC you opened a text box with the tilde key (~) and typed a word, such as TURTLE for full health and armor. PC versions of GTA 6 have not been announced yet.
Good to know before you try
In GTA V cheats only worked in story mode, some did not work during missions, and using any cheat turned off trophies and achievements for that session. Save your game first. Read more in do cheats disable trophies in GTA 6.
