What a weapons cheat does
A weapons cheat fills your inventory in one go. Instead of buying guns at a store, finding them on the street or unlocking them through the story, you get a full set of weapons and ammunition the moment you enter the code. It is one of the oldest and best known cheats in the Grand Theft Auto series, and for many players it is the first one they look up.
The appeal is easy to understand. Weapons shape how you approach almost every situation in a GTA game, and having all of them available lets you try every option without spending in-game money or time.
How it worked in GTA V
In Grand Theft Auto V the weapons cheat was entered on PC by typing TOOLUP into the cheat input box. It gave the player a weapon of each type together with ammunition for them. Console players used a button combination, and the same result could be triggered through a number on the in-game phone on every platform.
Because it handed out a broad set of weapons, it was a favourite for players who wanted to cause chaos in the open world or test which weapon worked best in a particular mission.
What we know about cheats in GTA 6
Right now there is no official information about cheat codes in GTA 6. Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game will be released on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it has not said anything about cheats.
That means we cannot tell you yet whether a weapons cheat will exist, which weapons it would include or how you would enter it. The table at the top of this page will show the real code for each platform as soon as Rockstar Games releases it. Until then it says "not yet known", because we do not guess codes.
Why players love a weapons cheat
Freedom to experiment
The open world of a GTA game becomes a sandbox when you have every tool available. You can find out how different weapons handle, which ones work best from a car and which ones cause the most spectacular results.
Skipping the grind
Buying and unlocking weapons takes time. Some players simply want to get to the fun part, and a weapons cheat lets them do that straight away.
Getting out of a tight spot
Running out of ammunition in the middle of a shoot-out is frustrating. A weapons cheat that also gives ammunition can turn a losing fight around instantly.
Things to keep in mind
Achievements and trophies
In GTA V using any cheat disabled achievements and trophies for the rest of that session. Restarting the game or loading a save turned them back on. If you are hunting for achievements, save first and use cheats in a separate session.
Story mode only
GTA V cheats could not be used in GTA Online. An online world where one player can give themselves every weapon at any time would not be fair, so cheats were kept to the single-player story. If GTA 6 includes an online mode, a similar rule is likely, but it has not been confirmed.
It can change how missions feel
Some missions are designed around the weapons you have at that point in the story. Having everything at once can make them much easier, which is great if you are stuck but can take away some of the tension the first time you play.
Combining a weapons cheat with other cheats
In GTA V many players paired the weapons cheat with protection cheats such as health and armor or invincibility. The result was a short burst of pure action where nothing could stop you. Others used it together with a wanted level cheat to start a fight with the police and then end it whenever they wanted. If GTA 6 offers similar cheats, we will explain on each page how they work together.

Does the GTA V code work in GTA 6?
Do not assume it does. Every GTA game has had its own codes, so we will only publish a GTA 6 code after it has been officially released.
Which platforms will be covered?
GTA 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced yet, but the switch above the table already has a PC option so the page is ready if that changes.
