What a health and armor cheat does
A health and armor cheat is the simplest kind of help a Grand Theft Auto game can give you. The moment you enter it, your health bar fills up completely and your body armor is topped off as well. You keep playing exactly where you were, with the same weapons, the same wanted level and the same mission progress. The only thing that changes is how much punishment you can take before the screen fades and you wake up outside a hospital.
That makes it different from cheats that change the rules of the game. It does not make you immortal, it does not change the world around you and it does not stay active. It is a one-time refill. If you take a lot of damage again a minute later, you need to use it again.
How it worked in GTA V
The closest example we have is Grand Theft Auto V. On PC, players could open the cheat input box and type TURTLE, which instantly restored the health and armor meters to full. Console players entered a sequence of buttons on the controller, and everyone could also dial a special number on the in-game phone to trigger the same effect.
In practice this was one of the most used cheats in GTA V. It was quick to enter, it had no lasting side effects on the world and it was easy to use again in the middle of a chaotic shoot-out. Players who wanted to experiment with the game's systems, or simply survive a tough moment without restarting a mission, reached for it first.
What we know about cheats in GTA 6
At the time of writing, nothing is known about cheat codes in GTA 6. Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game launches on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but we have not seen any official information about cheats, how they will be entered or which effects will be available.
Because of that, this page does not list a code yet. We prefer to show an honest "not yet known" instead of guessing a button combination or copying an unverified list. As soon as Rockstar Games releases the codes, we will add the correct code for every platform to the table at the top of this page.
Why a health cheat is likely to be popular again
Every modern GTA game has given players some way to recover from a bad situation, and a full health and armor refill is the most direct version of that. It fits almost any play style. If you enjoy causing chaos in the open world, it lets you keep going for longer. If you like taking photos or exploring, it saves you from losing your progress to a stray bullet. And if you are learning how the combat feels, it gives you room to make mistakes.
Whether GTA 6 will offer a cheat like this is still an open question. If it does, it will most likely work in the story mode only, as cheats did in GTA V.
Things to keep in mind when using cheats
Cheats are fun, but in GTA V they came with a few rules that are worth knowing before you use them in any new game.
Achievements and trophies
In GTA V, entering any cheat disabled achievements and trophies for the rest of that play session. The game showed a message to warn you. Restarting the game or loading your save again switched them back on, so the effect was temporary, but it meant you could not earn an achievement in the same session in which you had used a cheat.
Online play
Cheat codes in GTA V only worked in the single-player story. They could not be used in GTA Online, which kept the online world fair for everyone. If GTA 6 has an online mode, we expect the same separation, but that has not been confirmed.
Saving your game
A good habit is to save before you start experimenting. That way you can always return to a clean save if a cheat leaves your game in a state you do not like.
When a health and armor refill is most useful
A refill cheat shines in moments where the game asks a lot from you in a short time. Think of a long police chase, a mission with waves of enemies or a fall from a height you did not plan for. It also helps when you want to practise a difficult driving or shooting section without being sent back to the last checkpoint every few seconds.
It is less useful in situations where damage comes in very quickly, such as an explosion right next to you. A refill happens once, so it cannot protect you from damage that arrives after you enter the code. For that kind of protection, an invincibility cheat is the better fit, and we have a separate page for that as well.
