What a parachute cheat does
A parachute cheat puts a parachute on your character's back, ready to use. It sounds like a small thing, but in an open world full of tall buildings, cliffs, helicopters and planes, having a parachute at the right moment can turn a deadly fall into a smooth landing.
It is one of the most practical cheats in a Grand Theft Auto game. It does not make you stronger or change the rules; it simply gives you a tool that opens up a lot of creative options.
How it worked in GTA V
Grand Theft Auto V had a cheat that gave the player a parachute. Like most GTA V cheats, it could be entered with a button combination on consoles, typed into the cheat input box on PC or triggered by dialling a number on the in-game phone. Once active, the parachute was equipped and could be opened during any fall.
It became a natural companion to other cheats. Players who spawned aircraft, used the skyfall cheat or simply climbed the tallest building in the city often entered the parachute cheat first.
What we know about cheats in GTA 6
At the time of writing there is no official information about cheat codes in GTA 6. Rockstar Games has confirmed a release date of Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it has not shared whether the game has cheats or whether parachutes will play a role.
The table at the top of this page therefore shows "not yet known". We do not guess codes. Once Rockstar Games releases them, we will add the correct code for every platform.
When a parachute comes in handy
Leaving an aircraft
If a flight goes wrong, or you just want to jump out over a specific spot, a parachute is the difference between a safe landing and a trip to the hospital.
Base jumping
Jumping from a skyscraper, a radio mast or a cliff and opening your parachute at the last moment is one of the most satisfying things to do in a GTA game.
Escaping
Being chased onto a rooftop is usually a dead end. With a parachute, it becomes an escape route.
Combining with other cheats
A parachute makes cheats like skyfall or spawning a helicopter much more fun, because you always have a way down.
Tips for a good jump
- Get enough height. A parachute needs some time to open and slow you down. Jumping from too low can still end badly.
- Choose a clear landing area. Open ground, a quiet street or a beach is easier than a busy road full of traffic.
- Steer early. Small adjustments high up are easier than big corrections close to the ground.
- Watch out for water and wires. Obstacles near the ground are the most common cause of a failed landing.
Things to keep in mind
Achievements and trophies
In GTA V any cheat, even a simple one like a parachute, disabled achievements and trophies for the current session. Restarting or reloading switched them back on. Save first if you care about achievements.
Story mode only
GTA V cheats could not be used in GTA Online. If GTA 6 includes an online mode, we expect cheats to stay in single-player again, although this has not been confirmed.
Save before you jump
Jumps from great heights can go wrong in unexpected ways. A quick save before you start means you can always return to a safe point.
