What is the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy?

The '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy is a classic muscle car turned into an off-road monster. Rockstar Games officially revealed it for GTA 6, describing it as a first-generation muscle car rebuilt as a mud-plugging off-roader and a "Mud Club" monster with impressive off-road handling for the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond.

It combines two very different ideas: the shape of a late-'60s American muscle car and the hardware of a dedicated mud truck. The result is one of the most eye-catching vehicles Rockstar has shown so far.

How to get the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy in GTA 6

The Dominator Buggy is one of the exclusive vehicles in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition. According to Rockstar's product description, it is stored at the Paradise Garage.

Rockstar has also said that Ultimate Edition content is woven through Jason and Lucia's story. That suggests the Buggy may become available as you progress, rather than being available the moment you start. The exact unlock moment has not been revealed.

There is no official word yet on whether a version of the Buggy can be obtained in the Standard Edition.

What the official images show

Rockstar's images of the Buggy show just how far it is from a standard muscle car:

  • Huge off-road tyres with deep tread, lifting the body far above the ground.
  • A roof-mounted light bar with four large spotlights, plus extra lights on the front bumper.
  • A heavy tubular front bumper built to push through obstacles.
  • A weathered, race-style livery with a large number and lettering on the doors, and a spare tyre at the back.
  • A worn interior, shown in a close-up of the dashboard and steering wheel.

One image shows the Buggy pulling out of a garage, and another shows it mid-drive through rough terrain, which matches its purpose as a backwoods machine.

Built for Mount Kalaga

Rockstar specifically connects the Buggy to the backwoods of Mount Kalaga. Mount Kalaga National Park is one of the six regions of Leonida that Rockstar has officially introduced: a forested wilderness in the north of the state with rivers, hills and trails. That makes it the natural playground for a vehicle like this.

Leonida also includes the wetlands of Grassrivers and the industrial and agricultural region of Ambrosia. Whether the Buggy performs well in those areas too is something players will discover after launch.

The Dominator name in GTA

The Dominator is a familiar name for long-time GTA players. According to fan databases such as GTABase and the GTA Wiki, the Vapid Dominator appeared in GTA V and GTA Online as a two-door muscle car, with several variants added over the years. Fan sources describe the Dominator family as being inspired by the Ford Mustang, mixing design elements from different generations.

The GTA 6 version is described by Rockstar as a first-generation model from 1967, which places it at the very start of the Dominator's fictional history. Turning that classic shape into a lifted mud machine is the kind of playful twist the series is known for.

What we do not know yet

Rockstar has not published any performance figures for the Dominator Buggy. Unknown details include:

  • Top speed, acceleration and durability.
  • Whether it can be customised further.
  • Whether it can be bought or found without the Ultimate Edition.
  • What "Mud Club" refers to in the game world.

The stats table on this page shows "Unknown" until reliable numbers are available. We will add them as soon as they can be verified.

Tips for off-road driving

These tips are based on how off-road vehicles have handled in earlier GTA games, not on confirmed GTA 6 mechanics:

  • Take it off the asphalt. Big tyres and high suspension are made for dirt, mud and hills, not for cornering on city streets.
  • Use momentum on slopes. Approaching a hill with speed usually works better than crawling up from a standstill.
  • Watch your balance. Tall vehicles can tip over in sharp turns or on steep side slopes.
  • Explore the north. Rockstar ties the Buggy to Mount Kalaga, so that is the first place to try it out.
