What is the '55 Vapid Stanier?
The '55 Vapid Stanier is a classic two-tone sedan from the 1950s, made by the fictional American manufacturer Vapid. Rockstar Games officially revealed it as the centrepiece of the Vintage Vice City Pack, the GTA 6 pre-order bonus. Rockstar invites players to cruise Shore Drive in this timeless sedan and store it in a personal garage close to the beach.
With its rounded fenders, chrome trim and two-tone paint, the '55 Stanier is a rolling piece of nostalgia in the middle of modern-day Vice City.
How to get the '55 Vapid Stanier in GTA 6
The '55 Stanier comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar includes this pack with GTA 6 pre-orders and purchases made before 20 November 2026, and it is available with both the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition. You do not need the more expensive edition to get it.
According to Rockstar, you can store the car in the Shore Court personal garage, which is just a short distance from the sand of Ocean Beach. That makes it one of the few GTA 6 vehicles for which an in-game location has already been named.
Whether the pack will be offered in another way after the pre-order period has not been announced.
What the official images show
Rockstar released several images of the Stanier on the official GTA 6 website:
- A night scene of the yellow and white Stanier on a neon-lit Vice City street, with Jason and Lucia inside.
- Close-ups of the front fender with the chrome "Stanier" script and of the taillights.
- Scenes with Jason and Lucia posing in front of the car, including one outside the Ocean View Hotel and one at sunset.
The images show a car with a yellow upper body and white lower panels, wide whitewall-style tyres, a chrome grille and a Vapid badge across the hood.
The Stanier name in GTA
The Stanier is a well-known name in the series. According to the GTA Wiki and GTABase, the Vapid Stanier appeared in GTA IV and GTA V as an ordinary four-door sedan. It was also the basis for police cruisers and taxis, which made it one of the most common cars on the streets of Liberty City and Los Santos. Fan sources describe that earlier Stanier as inspired by the Ford Crown Victoria.
The GTA 6 '55 Stanier is a very different take: instead of a 1990s fleet car, it is a 1950s classic. It suggests that the Stanier name has a long history in the game world, and that GTA 6 is happy to play with it.
Part of the Vintage Vice City Pack
The Vintage Vice City Pack is described by Rockstar as a collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest. The '55 Stanier fits that theme perfectly. Vice City has always been tied to nostalgia in the GTA series, ever since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City recreated the city in the 1980s. A classic sedan cruising Shore Drive is a fitting nod to that history.
