Who are the characters in GTA 6?
Rockstar Games has officially introduced eight characters from Grand Theft Auto VI. Two of them are the protagonists, the characters you play as. The other six are people they meet in the state of Leonida, from Vice City's music scene to the drug runners of the Leonida Keys.
This guide gives a short overview of each. Every character also has a dedicated guide on this site.
The protagonists
Jason Duval
Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. After a spell in the army, he ended up in the Leonida Keys working for local drug runners. He wants an easy life, but things keep getting harder.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia grew up in Liberty City and ended up in the Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family. She got out through sheer luck and is determined to build the better life her mother always dreamed of.
Together, Jason and Lucia are at the centre of the story. When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on what Rockstar calls the darkest side of the sunniest place in America.
The supporting cast
Cal Hampton
A friend of Jason and an associate of Brian Heder. Cal is something of a conspiracy theorist who prefers to stay indoors, listening to Coast Guard radio and keeping an eye on what happens online.
Boobie Ike
A Vice City local who turned his street reputation into a business empire in real estate, nightlife and music, including the label and studio Only Raw Records.
Dre'Quan Priest
An aspiring music producer at Only Raw Records. His main goal is making music, but he deals drugs to pay his way. He is proud of having signed Real Dimez.
Real Dimez
The duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy, old friends with a strong social media following and an early hit with local rapper DWNPLY. They have signed with Only Raw Records and hope for another hit.
Raul Bautista
A veteran bank robber who treats heists like works of art. His manipulative charm has helped him pull off many high-risk robberies.
Brian Heder
An old-school drug runner in the Keys and Jason's landlord. He is said to use his boat yard to move illegal cargo, and is now on his third wife and nearing retirement.
How the characters connect
The cast falls into two loose groups. Cal and Brian belong to Jason's world in the Leonida Keys. Boobie, Dre'Quan and Real Dimez are part of Vice City's music business around Only Raw Records. Raul stands somewhat apart as an experienced professional criminal. How exactly all these paths cross in the story is something players will discover when the game is out.
Will there be more characters?
Almost certainly. GTA games are full of characters, and these eight are only the ones Rockstar has chosen to introduce before launch. We will add new characters to this overview once they are officially revealed.
