Do you need a cheat to switch characters in GTA 6?
No. GTA 6 has two main characters, Jason and Lucia, and switching between them is part of the game. Rockstar showed it in its official GTA 6 footage. No cheat is needed. GTA 6 comes out on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How switching works in GTA 6
According to what Rockstar has shown, you play the story as both Jason and Lucia. In free roam they can split up or stay together, and you can switch between them. Their relationship is at the heart of the story, which Rockstar describes as an easy score gone wrong that pulls them into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida.
How it compares to GTA V
GTA V was the first main GTA game with more than one playable character: Michael, Franklin and Trevor. You switched between them with a character wheel, outside missions and sometimes in the middle of one. Each character also had a special ability, which a GTA V cheat could recharge. Can you play as other characters?
Rockstar has introduced several other characters in GTA 6, such as Cal, Boobie and Raul. There is no sign that you can play as them. GTA V had a Director Mode that let you play as many different people, but it has not been announced for GTA 6.
