GTA 6 Alligator Cheat: Can You Spawn a Gator?

By gta6 central · Updated 7 October 2026

The alligator walking into a store in the first GTA 6 trailer became an instant meme. A cheat to spawn one is unlikely. Here is what we know.

Is there an alligator cheat in GTA 6?

No GTA 6 cheat codes have been released, so there is no cheat to spawn an alligator. GTA 6 comes out on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Alligators are already famous in GTA 6, though. In the first trailer, an alligator wanders into a convenience store, a scene that went viral right away. Leonida is based on Florida, so gators in swamps, canals and maybe the odd swimming pool are to be expected.

Animals in GTA V

GTA V had no cheat to spawn animals. It did have other ways to see the world through an animal's eyes. Hidden peyote plants turned you into an animal for a short time, from a dog to a shark. On newer versions, Director Mode let you play as animals too. Neither was a cheat code.

Where to find gators in GTA 6

The most likely place is Grassrivers, the swamp region of Leonida inspired by the Everglades. Rockstar has not said exactly where animals appear. See the region on our GTA 6 interactive map.

Fun cheats to look out for

If you are after silly fun, GTA V's fun cheats are more likely to return than an alligator spawn: drunk mode, moon gravity and change weather. We will add the GTA 6 codes as soon as they are released.
