What a slippery cars cheat does

A slippery cars cheat takes away the grip of every vehicle. Tyres stop holding the road, cars slide through corners and the slightest turn can send you into a spin. Driving suddenly feels like racing on ice.

It is a cheat that makes the game harder rather than easier, but it also makes it a lot more playful. Drifting around corners and sliding into parking spaces becomes part of the fun.

How it worked in GTA V

In Grand Theft Auto V, PC players typed SNOWDAY into the cheat input box. After that, vehicles lost grip and slid and drifted all over the road. On consoles the cheat was entered with a button combination, and on every platform it could also be activated with a number on the in-game phone.

The name hints at the idea behind it: driving on a snowy day, when nothing quite goes where you steer it.

What we know about cheats in GTA 6

At the time of writing there is no official information about cheat codes in GTA 6. Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game launches on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it has not said whether a slippery cars cheat will exist.

The table at the top of this page shows "not yet known" until the codes are released. We do not guess codes. Once Rockstar Games makes them available, we will add the right one here.

Why players enjoy slippery driving

Drifting made easy

Normally, drifting takes practice and the right car. With low grip, almost any vehicle slides through corners, which makes stylish driving accessible to everyone.

A new driving challenge

If you know the roads well, slippery cars make them feel new again. Getting from A to B without crashing becomes a test of skill.

Chaotic moments

When your car slides, the streets become much more unpredictable. Near misses and spectacular crashes happen more easily, which can be entertaining to watch.

Tips for driving on "ice"

  • Slow down before corners. Braking in the middle of a bend is much harder when the tyres have no grip.
  • Use gentle steering. Small inputs keep the car under control; big ones send it spinning.
  • Pick wide roads. Highways and open areas give you room to correct a slide.
  • Try different vehicles. Heavy and light vehicles may behave very differently when grip is low.

Things to keep in mind

Achievements and trophies

In GTA V any cheat disabled achievements and trophies for the rest of the session. Restarting the game or loading a save turned them back on. Save first if you care about achievements.

Story mode only

GTA V cheats could not be used in GTA Online. Changing how every car handles would affect all players in a shared world. If GTA 6 has an online mode, we expect cheats to stay in single-player again, but that has not been confirmed.

Driving missions get harder

Chases, races and timed deliveries become much more difficult with low grip. Unless you want an extra challenge, it is best to switch this cheat off before a driving mission.
