What a raise wanted level cheat does
Most cheats help you escape trouble. This one does the opposite: it brings trouble to you. A raise wanted level cheat adds stars to your wanted level, which tells the police to come after you harder. Within seconds the streets fill with patrol cars and, at higher levels, the game throws heavier units at you.
It might sound strange to want that, but for many players the police chase is the heart of a GTA game. This cheat lets you start one whenever you like, without having to commit a crime first.
How it worked in GTA V
In Grand Theft Auto V, PC players could type FUGITIVE into the cheat input box to raise their wanted level by one star. Entering it several times pushed the level higher, step by step. Console players used a button combination, and on every platform the same effect could be triggered through a number on the in-game phone.
It was the natural partner of the lower wanted level cheat. With both available, players could set up exactly the kind of chase they wanted and end it again when they had had enough.
What we know about cheats in GTA 6
At the moment there is no official information about cheat codes in GTA 6. Rockstar Games has confirmed a release on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it has not shared anything about cheats.
We therefore cannot say whether GTA 6 will let you raise your wanted level with a code. The table at the top of this page shows "not yet known" until Rockstar Games releases the codes. We will then add the correct code for every platform.
Why you might want more police attention
Testing your escape skills
Getting away from the police is a skill. Starting a chase on purpose is a great way to practise driving through traffic, finding hiding spots and learning the layout of the map.
Action on demand
Sometimes you just want a big fight or a wild chase without planning a crime first. A raise wanted level cheat delivers that instantly.
Seeing how the world reacts
Each GTA game handles the police differently. Pushing the wanted level up step by step shows you how the response grows, which units appear and how aggressive they become.
Tips for a good chase
If GTA 6 offers a cheat like this, a few habits from earlier games will help you get the most out of it:
- Pick your vehicle first. A fast, sturdy car makes a long chase much more fun than whatever happens to be parked nearby.
- Raise the level gradually. Jumping straight to the maximum can end the fun in seconds. Building up gives you time to enjoy each stage.
- Combine it with protection. In GTA V many players paired it with health or invincibility cheats so the chase could last longer.
- Know your way out. Have a plan to end the chase, either by escaping or by using a lower wanted level cheat.
Things to keep in mind
Achievements and trophies
In GTA V using any cheat disabled achievements and trophies for the rest of that session. Restarting or reloading your save switched them back on.
Story mode only
GTA V cheats could not be used in GTA Online. In a shared world that kept the game fair for everyone. If GTA 6 has an online mode, cheats will most likely be limited to single-player again, although this has not been confirmed.
Missions can get harder
Raising your wanted level right before or during a mission can make it a lot more difficult. Save first if you want to experiment.
