What a fast run cheat does
A fast run cheat makes your character sprint much faster than normal. Getting from one end of a street to the other takes a fraction of the time, and you can outpace people on foot with ease. It changes how it feels to move around the world without a vehicle.
In a game where most travel happens by car, being quick on foot is surprisingly useful. Plenty of places, from alleys to rooftops to parks, are easier to reach on foot, and a speed boost makes exploring them much more pleasant.
How it worked in GTA V
In Grand Theft Auto V, PC players typed CATCHME into the cheat input box to run faster. Console players entered a button combination, and on every platform the same effect could be triggered by dialling a number on the in-game phone.
It belonged to a small group of movement cheats in GTA V, together with fast swimming and super jump. These cheats did not make you stronger in a fight, but they made the world feel smaller and quicker to explore.
What we know about cheats in GTA 6
There is currently no official information about cheat codes in GTA 6. Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game launches on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it has not said whether a fast run cheat, or any cheat, will be included.
The table at the top of this page shows "not yet known" for every platform. We never publish guessed codes. As soon as Rockstar Games releases them, we will add the right code here.
Why speed on foot matters
Exploring without a car
Some of the most interesting places in a GTA game are hard to reach by car: beaches, footpaths, rooftops and narrow alleys. Running faster makes these trips much shorter.
Escaping on foot
Being chased without a vehicle is tense. A speed boost gives you a real chance of getting away from pursuers who are also on foot.
Catching up
Some situations ask you to chase someone on foot. With extra speed, those chases end a lot faster.
Getting the most out of it
- Combine it with super jump. In GTA V players often used both together to move across the city at high speed, leaping over obstacles along the way.
- Watch where you are going. Running into traffic at high speed rarely ends well.
- Use it for photo trips. If you like taking screenshots, moving quickly on foot lets you find good angles that a car cannot reach.
Things to keep in mind
Achievements and trophies
In GTA V using any cheat disabled achievements and trophies for the rest of the play session. They came back after restarting or loading a save. Saving before you experiment is a good habit.
Story mode only
GTA V cheats could not be used in GTA Online. Running faster than everyone else would not be fair in a shared world. If GTA 6 has an online mode, we expect cheats to stay in single-player again, but that has not been confirmed.
Vehicles are still faster
Even with a speed boost, a car is usually the quickest way to cover long distances. Fast running shines over short and medium distances and in places where vehicles cannot go.
