Did Rockstar want Daft Punk for GTA 6?
That is a rumour. On 19 October 2026, a few days after Rockstar confirmed that Justice composed the GTA 6 score, a music-leak account on X claimed that Daft Punk's management had been offered a final comeback for the soundtrack, with "essentially an unlimited budget", and that Justice were Rockstar's second choice.
Nobody involved has confirmed this. Rockstar, Daft Punk's representatives and Justice have not commented.
What is confirmed
- Justice, the French electronic duo, composed the original score of GTA 6. Rockstar confirmed this on 15 October 2026.
- Their new song "Flower in a Hurricane", featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, plays over the launch trailer and will be on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.

Why the rumour is hard to believe
Daft Punk split up in February 2021 and have not performed together since. Thomas Bangalter, one half of the duo, has repeatedly turned down the idea of a reunion. The claim comes from a single account and has no official source behind it. The account has a history of music leaks, but a track record is not proof.
A Daft Punk link after all?
There may be a small connection. According to reports, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, the other half of Daft Punk, produced the Travis Scott song "RHYNO", which is said to be on the GTA 6 album. Rockstar has not published the full tracklist, so this is not confirmed either.
