When did the GTA 6 launch trailer come out?
Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on 15 October 2026, without any announcement or countdown beforehand. It arrived just over a month before the game's release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer runs for about a minute and a half. Rockstar says it was captured entirely on a PlayStation 5.
What does the launch trailer show?
Where the earlier trailers introduced Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, the launch trailer puts Jason and Lucia and their relationship at the centre. Rockstar's own description sums up the tone: Jason and Lucia "have always known the deck is stacked against them", and their story pulls them into "a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida".
Jason also talks about his past for the first time in a trailer. "I got in trouble in the army. Didn't leave on the best of terms," he says, which fits what Rockstar had already revealed about his background as a former soldier. Between the dialogue, the trailer shows driving, gunfights and the crime spree that has defined every GTA 6 reveal so far.

The music: Justice
The trailer is set to "Flower in a Hurricane", a new song by the French electronic duo Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. With the trailer, Rockstar also confirmed that Justice composed the game's original score. The song will be on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which comes out on the same day as the game.
We cover the song and the score in more detail in Justice and the GTA 6 score.
Is this GTA 6 Trailer 3?
Many fans and websites call it "Trailer 3", but Rockstar does not give it a number. Its official name is simply the launch trailer. In order, the major GTA 6 videos are:
- Trailer 1 (December 2023), which introduced Vice City and Lucia.
- Trailer 2 (May 2025), which put Jason in the spotlight.
- An Extended Look (27 August 2026), a longer gameplay presentation.
- The launch trailer (15 October 2026).
