Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
At the time of writing, no PC version of GTA 6 has been announced. Rockstar Games has only confirmed the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, both launching on Thursday 19 November 2026.
That does not mean a PC version will never happen. It simply means there is no official plan, date or announcement to point to right now. Anything you read about a specific PC release date is speculation unless it comes directly from Rockstar.
In October 2026, reports said a PC version is planned before the end of March 2027. Rockstar has not confirmed this, so treat it as a report, not an announcement.
How Rockstar has handled PC before
Rockstar has a long history of releasing its biggest games on consoles first and on PC later. GTA V is the best-known example: it launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, came to the next console generation later and only arrived on PC after that. Other Rockstar titles followed a similar path.
Because of that track record, many players expect GTA 6 to reach PC at some point. But past behaviour is not a promise. Until Rockstar says something, a PC version remains a possibility rather than a plan.
Why might a PC version come later?
There are a few common reasons publishers stagger releases like this. Rockstar has not said which, if any, apply to GTA 6.
Focus
Launching on fewer platforms lets a team concentrate on making those versions as good as possible.
Hardware variety
Consoles have fixed hardware. PCs come in countless combinations of graphics cards, processors and settings, and supporting all of them well takes extra work.
A second wave of attention
A later PC release can bring the game back into the spotlight and reach players who did not buy it on console.
What PC players can do now
- Wait for official news. The only reliable source for a PC announcement is Rockstar itself.
- Be careful with "PC downloads". Since no PC version exists, any site offering a GTA 6 PC download or "early access" is not legitimate. These are often scams or malware.
- Avoid buying hardware for it yet. Without official system requirements, it is impossible to know what a PC version would need. Upgrading now based on guesses could mean spending money on the wrong parts.
- Consider a console. If you do not want to wait, GTA 6 will be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S from launch day.
What about cloud gaming?
Some players hoped to stream the console version to a PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming. In October 2026, Xbox's Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball said GTA 6 "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC". So you cannot play GTA 6 on a PC through Xbox's cloud service. Whether the game will be available for cloud streaming on Xbox consoles has not been made clear.
How this site handles PC
On our cheat pages you will already see a PC option in the platform switch. That is there so the pages are ready if a PC version is announced. For now, every PC entry is marked as not yet known, and we will update it as soon as there is real information.
