When do GTA 6 reviews come out?
Rockstar Games has not announced when reviews of Grand Theft Auto VI can be published. That moment is called the review embargo: the date and time from which critics who received the game early are allowed to share their verdict.
The game itself comes out on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The 18 November rumour
In October 2026, several reports said the review embargo will lift on 18 November 2026, one day before launch. This claim comes from an insider report, not from Rockstar or Take-Two, and neither company has confirmed it. An earlier report that reviews would appear before launch was reportedly deleted afterwards.
Until Rockstar or the outlets themselves confirm a date, treat 18 November as a rumour.
Have reviewers got the game yet?
Also unconfirmed. A well-known insider claimed that review copies would go out to the press before the end of October. Rockstar has not said when, or whether, reviewers receive the game early. Posts on social media that seem to hint at a review copy prove nothing on their own.
Why it matters
- Reviews help you decide. If you have not pre-ordered yet, reviews show how the game plays, how it runs on your console and whether there are problems at launch.
- A late embargo is not a bad sign by default. Publishers of very big games sometimes keep reviews close to launch to avoid spoilers.
- Watch out for spoilers. Once reviews and launch-week videos appear, story details spread fast. Mute keywords on social media if you want to go in fresh.
