What a spawn garbage truck cheat does
A spawn garbage truck cheat places a large refuse truck right next to you. It is heavy, slow to accelerate and not exactly elegant, but it is also very hard to stop once it gets moving. In a Grand Theft Auto game, that makes it an unexpectedly entertaining vehicle.
Big utility vehicles are part of what makes a GTA city feel real. Spawning one with a cheat lets you get behind the wheel without having to find one parked on the street.
How it worked in GTA V
In Grand Theft Auto V, PC players typed TRASHED into the cheat input box to spawn a garbage truck. On consoles the cheat was entered with a button combination, and on every platform it could also be triggered with a number on the in-game phone.
It was one of the more unusual vehicle cheats in the game. Most vehicle cheats focused on speed or flight; this one was about size and weight.
What we know about cheats in GTA 6
There is no official information about cheat codes in GTA 6 at the moment. Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game will be released on Thursday 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it has not said whether it includes cheats or which vehicles will be available.
The table at the top of this page shows "not yet known" for every platform. We never guess codes. As soon as Rockstar Games releases them, we will add the right one here.
Why spawn a garbage truck?
Weight wins
Heavy vehicles push smaller ones out of the way. In a chase or a traffic jam, a garbage truck simply ploughs on where a sports car would bounce off.
Comedy value
Escaping the police in a garbage truck, or entering a race with one, is the kind of absurd moment GTA games are known for.
Role-playing
Some players enjoy driving ordinary city vehicles and imagining a normal job in the game world. A garbage truck is a classic choice.
Tips for driving a heavy truck
- Brake early. A heavy vehicle needs much more distance to stop.
- Take corners slowly. High, heavy vehicles can tip over in sharp turns at speed.
- Use its size. In a narrow street, a truck can block pursuers behind you.
- Avoid steep hills. Climbing slowly with a heavy load is not the fastest way to travel.
Things to keep in mind
Achievements and trophies
In GTA V any cheat disabled achievements and trophies for the rest of the session. They returned after restarting or loading your save. Save first if achievements matter to you.
Story mode only
GTA V cheats could not be used in GTA Online. If GTA 6 includes an online mode, we expect cheats to stay in single-player again, but this has not been confirmed.
Not built for speed
A garbage truck is strong but slow. For long trips or quick escapes, a faster vehicle is the better choice.
